The title of this post pretty much says it all, and Lauren’s own post tells you anything else you really need to know but, having been made aware of this, I felt I had to share it.
I’ve made it to the Harrogate Crime Festival twice. The first time, I went up for the day really just to see what it was like – it was brilliant, and I didn’t even go to any of the formally organised events! Having had the taster, I went up again for longer. I didn’t manage the whole four days, but arrived Friday afternoon, and left Sunday lunchtime. Again, it was amazing, especially finding myself walking past authors whose books I’d read and enjoyed. Next time, I really must pluck up courage to talk to more of them.
Anyway, if you’re a writer and you haven’t been before, this is a terrific opportunity to go, and all thanks to the terrific author, Lauren North. So, click here, and learn some more. It could be just what you need. And if it turns out that you aren’t eligible, I can still recommend it, whether you manage the whole event, or just a few hours. If nothing else, I’ll be there, and you can collar me for a drink and a chat.
This is tempting Graeme ! I may have a go.
If you’re eligible, you should, Marje. I didn’t go last year, and the previous year it was cancelled because of Covid, so I’m desperate to get there this summer. It’s a great event.
Ah, yes I hope you get to Graeme. It’s wonderful the thought of mixing with our fellow writers again
And I have got an idea for an unusual crime story. Just a short story idea at the moment but potential for more. But I’ve never written crime before.
Be interesting to see what you do with crime, Marje!
