When I reflect on my life, there are times that I am proud of, times when I know I’ve done good things, either by helping others or achieving things for myself. (To be fair, those times have been more than compensated for by moments of shame and letting myself and others down, but today is not a day to focus on those!) All that said, I don’t ever recall a time when the word ‘genius’ has been attributed to me or anything I’ve done, so it was inevitable that I greeted its use in this review with a smirk. In part, I was amused by the idea, though my ego isn’t averse to being stroked, so I’m happy to bask in it for a while. I don’t for a minute believe every reader is going to come to the same conclusion. Still, it’s got to be worth keeping this one for posterity.
