Well, the countdown continues…
Okay, maybe not quite as dramatic as that – but, hey, who doesn’t love a bit of Thunderbirds? (And, if you watched the whole sequence, we are kindred spirits.)
Still, as I said last week, the paperback of Carrion comes out on 1st October. That’s only a week away now. (I’m tempted to ask where this year went but, for most of us, I think the answer is, down the toilet. Is anyone else desperate for a normal life again?)
Still, only 7 days until you can put in your order on Amazon. Here’s the blurb…
Choose your words carefully.
Words have power.
A sheet of black filled his vision as hundreds of birds dived at the cottage, pointed beaks thrust forward. From this angle, he couldn’t see many of them striking it, but the few he did see held nothing back as they hammered into the shutter. The scale of the attack was beyond anything he’d seen or heard of. And bloodied casualties littered the ground: skulls shattered, wings broken, innards spilling from them. The fact that so many of them continued with the onslaught in spite of this filled him with even more dread.
Salin has always wanted an adventure and, when the opportunity presents itself, he grabs it with both hands, taking his friends along for the ride – whether they want to or not.
With strange lands come strange creatures that stand between them and their goal. And that goal is the same for someone else, a man who believes the prize is worth every sacrifice – especially when the sacrifices are made by others.
The future is about to change. But who for?

Reviews so far have been good:
Blooming heck, his writing is amazing, atmospheric and mesmerising at times.
The author paints a world of vivid imagery, honour and friendship, hate and control that will keep you wanting more.
The villain is as villainous as they get…
...a delicious undercurrent of menace right from the first page
…a wonderfully entertaining story to get yourself lost in and forget about the real world for a while.
You see, words really do have power…

The hair on the back of my neck began to stir as I read your post, Graeme, so I know I will enjoy reading Carrion!
I would love to know how you already have reviews?
That sounds like it worked, then. The paperback is out next week, but the eBook has been available for a few months, which is how I’ve managed to get some reviews already. What’s really thrilling is that two of the reviewers are well-established authors in their own right, and both of them have raved about it. There’s a blog tour coming up in November as well, so that should help.
So, if you’re tempted and don’t want to wait for the paperback, you can read it now – click on the map (I’ve added it since his went live). Or, if you just want a taste of what’s to come, you can click on the book cover above to get the prologue (I’ve realised I put the wrong link in before, so that’s fixed now).
That aside, I hope life is treating you well
Getting better all the time!
Glad to hear it!
