This Tuesday it’ll be three months since Borderline was released. It hasn’t broken any sales records or even briefly been close to bestseller status, but that’s down to one thing. Marketing. I’ve done some, but not enough.
Still, I am taking the marathon rather than sprint approach. Because Borderline might be a book that you can read as a stand-alone, but there are more to follow in the series. And logic tells me that I’ll sell more copies of that book when there are others out there. After all, if you read a book and like it, you’re more likely to want to get another from the series.
To be fair, that seems to be the only complaint so far from readers. They can’t wait to read more.
Well, the second book, Renegade, is in the pipeline, but it’s still a few months away. That said, it seems like a good time to step the marketing up a little. If awareness of Borderline does begin to increase now, some more readers will have got to it by the end of the year and be ripe for the next one when it’s due out.
That’s the theory anyway. Though it’s all predicated on the idea that Borderline is a good read. And Rand Scott is a character you want to read more about.
There are already several reviews on Amazon and Goodreads, so you can take a look at those if you’re thinking about it. Starting tomorrow, there are also seven days of reviews coming up from a range of book bloggers. So, if you like crime fiction, and you like thrillers, but are wondering where your next read is coming from, follow the tour. there’s a fantastic range of book bloggers here as you’ll see below.

I’ll be sharing links on my social media, but also including them here where I can. Even if I get a shit one…
But that isn’t going to happen, is it?
PS If you want to know more now and/or want to buy a copy, click on the first image above and that will take you to the Amazon page for the book. If you want a signed copy, you can email me here with your request, and I’ll reply to you as soon as I possibly can.
Marketing is essential and I wish you well with it. I find marketing intensely boring and fail to do any on a continuous basis 😁
I know exactly what you mean, Robbie. I’m trying a range of different things in the hope that some of them will raise awareness enough for people to think it might be an idea to try one of my books. And then, maybe, they’ll try more of them!
